Navistar Seeks Court Of Appeal

Navistar is making another attempt to overturn a decision regarding pensions for their retired employees.

Back in November 2013, the Financial Services Tribunal decided Navistar would have to give pensions to employees who retired between 2009 and 2011.

That was the period when company and union officials tried to negotiate a new contract for Chatham plant workers, before the plant closed.

Navistar has already been denied appeals from the Tribunal and the Divisional Courts. Unifor officials say there will be further written submissions from Navistar and the Court of Appeals over the next two months.
