A Chatham man is facing charges after a disturbing incident at Winston Churchill Public School in Chatham.

Police say a school employee saw the 22-year-old man committing an indecent act while sitting on a piece of playground equipment at around 7:40am Tuesday.

There were no children outside at the time.

Investigators say the man tried to flee the scene on a bicycle before police caught up with him a short distance away. When police arrested him, they found pornographic material, methamphetamine, and marijuana in his possession.

The accused is facing one count of committing an indecent act and two counts of drug possession.
