High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Roads in uptown Leamington are shut down today and tomorrow for the BIA's Discover Leamington event.
It's the new name for the former sidewalk sale.
Part of the expanded event includes a farmers market along Mill St., in front of Lisa Bradt's store, Bradt's Butcher Block. "Hopefully it will bring people out to see what the bakers and fish people have to offer at the farmers market area and hopefully get them some exposure as well."
The multi-cultural event Mosaic is also part of the weekend, hosted by the South Essex Community Council.
