Filson Named Liberal Candidate For LKM

Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Liberals have their candidate for this year's federal election.

Birr native and Libro Credit Union employee Ken Filson has been acclaimed to represent the party in October 2015.

Filson says he's not intimidated by the large size of the riding. "It's about the size of PEI, and these are smaller rural towns that reflect rural values. Those are values that I share."

Filson adds he's worried about the economy's impact on the area, and wants to attract new business to the region. In the last federal election, the Liberals received 14% of the votes in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, while Conservative Bev Shipley received 57% of votes.
