Animal Shelter Fundraising Underway

Fundraising to replace the Chatham-Kent Animal Shelter is well underway.

The Friends of the New Animal Shelter committee is three months into an 18 month campaign.

"We're still laying some of the groundwork for a fundraising campaign but the intention is to raise about $2-million, to replace our existing shelter right in behind where the existing shelter sits," says committee co-chair Art Stirling. "We're really pleased to see the support that we've seen so far from the community."

The current shelter on Park Ave. E in Chatham was built in 1974.
