Owen Sound Police have arrested a youth after an arson spree in the city early Monday morning.

Several residences, including a 10-unit townhouse were destroyed in the blazes that sent 10 people to hospital and left 15 families without a home. More details on the events can be found here

The 17-year-old male faces 16 charges of Arson Endangering Life and 5 counts of Arson. He will attend a bail hearing Tuesday.

Police say further arrests are imminent and the investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, at least 30 people need alternate living arrangements after fires in Owen Sound destroyed their homes and apartments. A townhouse complex with ten units as well as two houses were gutted in three separate fires in the St. Mary's Hill area yesterday morning.

Victims' Services and the Red Cross are helping the homeless.

Andrew Hyatt, his wife Rose, her son and their dog are staying in a Chatsworth motel for a few days. He says after that he's not sure what they'll do after that.
