Charges After Hit And Run

A 23-year-old Windsor woman is charged with impaired driving, careless driving, and failing to remain at the scene of an accident after a crash north of Chatham.

Chatham-Kent OPP say the woman was heading south on Hwy. 40 in a Dodge Caravan at around 6pm yesterday when she hit a car that was stopped on Electric Line.

Police say the woman stopped briefly at the scene, but then continued on her way until officers stopped her on Bear Line Rd. and determined she had been drinking alcohol.

The 76-year-old man driving the car that was hit was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
