Jamieson Golf Tour Crowns Champions

Essex native Thomas DeMarco and Melanie Burgess of Windsor have been crowned champions of the Jamieson Junior Tour after the final event of the season in Windsor.

In the tour's ninth event on Wednesday, Liam Fisk of Essex shot a 68 in windy conditions at Ambassador Golf Club, however DeMarco’s 72 was good enough to take the overall tour championship.

In the Junior Girls Division, Chatham native Brooke Mackinnon shot 77 to win the day’s event, but couldn't overtake Burgess who hung on to win the tour championship.

In the Collegiate Men's Division, Kyle Wicks of Links of Kent had his first win of the season with a 73 and Michigan Wolverine Bryce Evon took the tour championship title.  Sara Holland of Western took the Collegiate women’s division with an 88 and clinched the overall tour championship.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
