Chatham Man Critical After Motorcycle Crash

A Chatham man is fighting for his life in hospital after a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

Chatham-Kent police say the crash on Bloomfield Rd. near 8th Line occurred at 12:21pm Saturday. The 34-year-old man driving the motorcycle was airlifted to hospital in London with critical injuries that police say included broken bones and internal injuries that have already required a few surgeries.

The driver of the pickup truck, also a Chatham-Kent man, was not injured.

Police have seized both vehicles so they can perform a mechanical inspection while the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Any witnesses are being asked to contact police.
