Suspect Arrested After Fleeing Police

Chatham-Kent police say they have located and arrested a suspect after a driver fled from officers in a stolen vehicle.

According to police, a 30-year-old woman was arrested yesterday in the area of O'Neill Line and Colby Rd. near Ridgetown, a few kilometres from where police lost the driver in a cornfield.

The canine unit was called in to assist with the investigation, but initial reports from police indicated the driver could not be located.

The Ridgetown woman is now charged with possession of stolen property and flight from police.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
