Hospital Funding Announced

Hospitals in the Erie St. Clair LHIN catchment area now know how much money they will be getting through a provincial infrastructure project.

The Chatham campus of the Health Alliance is getting $938,163, and the Sydenham campus is in line for $511,642.

Director of Communications for the LHIN Shannon Sasseville the hospitals have flexibility in deciding how to spend the money.

"The money can be used for small capital projects so the idea is they can use it for minor infrastructure renewals, fixing things that are broken or investing in small things that need to be done," she says. "From our perspective we leave those decisions to the hospital."

She says that can include roof repairs, new windows, or improving equipment like back-up generators or heating and ventilation.
