Officers Being Investigated

Chatham-Kent police are investigating allegations that two of its members used excessive force.

In a statement issued by police this morning, Inspector Trevor Crane, who's also with the Professional Standards Branch, says the matter came to the attention of police last week.

Crane says they're in the early stages of the investigation, and in order to not risk jeopardizing the investigation, no further details will be released.

The inspector also assures the public that the matters are being taken very seriously and timely updates will be provided as the investigation unfolds.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
