UPDATE: 401 Reopens Following Crash

The eastbound lanes of Hwy. 401 have reopened after being closed for over 12 hours because of a crash.

The OPP says a tractor trailer left the road and rolled, coming to rest in the south ditch just after 4:30pm, Tuesday.

The collision forced the eastbound lanes of the highway to close. They weren't reopened by police until 8am, Wednesday.

The 54-year-old driver of the tractor trailer from Flamborough Township, was airlifted to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There is no word on any charges.
