Alcohol A Factor In Serious Crash

A man is in hospital recovering from life-threatening injuries after a crash in Romney.

Chatham-Kent police say they responded to the crash on King and Whittle Rd just after 6am Saturday.

They found a vehicle had left the roadway, striking a culvert. Police believe alcohol was involved in the accident.

The 19-year-old driver was stabilized at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, then transported to London hospital for further treatment. He remains at the London Health Sciences Centre.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
