Board Pleased School Is Underway

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board is anticipating a predictable and standard first day of school Tuesday, free of striking teachers or staffing issues.

This as labour negotiations at the provincial level have created a tentative deal.

Director of Education Dan Parr says while OECTA has yet to begin talks at the local level, the progress provincially is a good sign. "They decided they wanted to wrap up provincial negotiations first. Assuming that deal is ratified, we will then begin with local negotiations."

Parr says work action is still a possibility, but for now the start of school will go on as planned.
