Scary Numbers From Truck Safety Blitz

A commercial motor vehicle blitz has turned-up troubling results.

Chatham-Kent police say ten of the 19 vehicles inspected were taken off the road for having serious safety infractions. Two sets of license plates were also seized with a total of 30 charges laid.

The blitz was a joint forces initiative with the Ministry of Transportation.

Police add that commercial motor vehicle safety inspections will continue on a regular basis in an ongoing effort to keep area roadways safe.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
