Stolen Plates Leads To Drug Seizure

A pair of stolen license plates has led to a drug seizure in Chatham.

Police were called about a pair of plates taken off a vehicle in a Park Ave. W parking lot in Chatham around 5:30pm yesterday. Around 2:40am today, police spotted a pick-up truck on Lacroix St. with matching plates.

Chatham-Kent police officers say they found about $2,000 worth of pot, a small bag of crystal meth, and other drug paraphernalia in the truck.

A 26-year-old man and 18-year-old woman, both of Chatham, were being held pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
