Teen Charged With Impaired Driving

Police are now laying charges after a weekend crash near Tilbury that sent one person to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 19-year-old Tilbury man driving the vehicle is charged with impaired driving, breaching probation, and failing to wear a seatbelt.

Police say he was taken to the hospital in Chatham shortly after 6am Saturday morning after an SUV drove off King & Whittle Rd. and into a ditch hitting a culvert.

Once his condition was stabilized in Chatham he was transferred to Victoria Hospital in London and released on Sunday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
