Girlfriend Hit With Acoustic Guitar

A domestic disturbance that turned into a violent assault with a guitar has a Chatham man facing charges.

Police were called to a residence around 9:30pm yesterday where a man and his girlfriend were arguing. Witnesses say the argument escalated to the point where the man struck the woman in the face with an acoustic guitar.

As witnesses rushed to her aid they say the suspect took off on an e-bike. The woman was taken to hospital for medical attention.

A couple of hours later, police located the 37-year-old, who faces charges that include aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and weapons dangerous. He was held for a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
