UPDATE: Police Find Remains While Searching For Missing Man

A body was found Thursday in the area behind London's Victoria Hospital during an extensive search for a missing Wallaceburg man.

The London Police Service, the London Fire Service and volunteers began the expanded search early on Thursday for 68-year-old Frederick Sutherland, who was last seen leaving the hospital around 1am on Monday.

Sources say he was being treated for cancer and has limited mobility. Police have said Sutherland is in need of medical treatment and had a bandaged neck when he left Victoria Hospital.

Thursday night, police confirmed a body was found found during the search, however, they did not say if it was Sutherland.

Police say there is no indication of foul play at this time.

The London Police Service's Major Crime Section and the coroner’s office are continuing to investigate.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the London Police Service at (519)-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
