Boyd's Elevator Fire Causes $150K Damage

A fire at Boyd's Elevators in Kurtzville caused $150,000 damage, and took hours to bring under control.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on Line 88 near Gowanstown yesterday morning, and did not get the fire under control until about 5pm last evening.

North Perth Assistant Fire Chief Greg Scott says the Listowel and Atwood station were on the scene, along with tankers and firefighters from Minto.

A bean drier was destroyed at the elevators which are a division of Hensall District Co-op. But firefighters managed to save the remaining structures.

No one was hurt, and the cause is still under investigation.
