Maroons Add Top Defenceman

The coach of the Chatham Maroons believes the recent addition of 18-year-old defenceman Andrew Barbeau will be big boost to the team.

Tyler Roeszler says he will be a top defenceman who can move the puck and is strong.

"He skates extremely well he's going to help us breaking pucks out of our own zone, and I think he's going to be a guy that plays in all situations, not only five on five but on the power play and penalty kills," he says. "He was very close to making Erie in the OHL, he was part of that Soo Junior A team that was in the National Championship last year, so he's played important games."

Barbeau was a late cut from the Erie Otters and Roeszler hopes he will be with the Maroons for several years.
