Opening New Health Alliance Unit

An open house at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is set for tonight to celebrate completion of the Women and Children's Program area after an 18 month renovation.

Eleanor Groh, director of surgery and women and children's health, says the work unites care from delivery and labour to pediatrics care and women's health.

"The departments were quite distant from each other so what the construction allows for us to do is integrate the physical space and actually bring the programs closer together," she says. "Basically the unit was totally restructured and rebuilt."

She says uniting the programs allows for greater continuity of care.

The open house is tonight starting at 7pm at the Frank and Mary Uniac Auditorium.
