Racing Charge Costs Licence

A 22-year-old Mississauga woman will not be driving for the next week after Chatham-Kent OPP stopped a car racing 65 km over the speed limit on the 401 last night.

Police had a radar unit set up near Duart Rd. about 10:30 and registered a west bound Acura traveling about 165 km/h.

The driver faces a charge of racing, her licence has been suspended and the car impounded for a week.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
