Social Media Helps Solve Crime

Social media and the public helped solve a theft in Thamesville.

Yesterday Chatham-Kent police released the image of a man taking a gas tank from a convenience store on Victoria St. Saturday afternoon.

The image was widely shared on social media and say family and friends recognized the suspect.

Police say as a result a 51-year-old man returned the gas tank to its rightful owner.

The victim was happy with the quick resolution and no charges were laid.
