Local Approval For Union Gas Project

Construction of a $250-million compressor in Dawn could begin as early as spring 2016.

Dawn-Euphemia council gave site plan approval to Union Gas for the project during a meeting October 26.

Union Gas Spokesperson Andrea Stass says the compressor is part of their pipeline expansion, building on their natural gas pipeline system travelling from Dawn to Mississauga

Stass says they are now waiting for approval from the Ontario Energy Board, which they expect sometime in spring 2016.

If approved, they hope to begin construction shortly after, with hopes of having the compressor up and running by fall of 2016.
