Poppy Campaign Underway

The Royal Canadian Legion poppy campaign is underway across the country.

Locally volunteers will be out in public selling poppies beginning on Thursday and the honour boxes full of them have already been distributed according to Chatham campaign organizer Connie Harrison.

"It's going very well, we have, I would say 300 or more in the shops and we have every school, north-side and south-side in Chatham covered," she says. "The money is for the veterans it's for the veterans in Parkwood Hospital (in London) and the veterans in our area."

Harrison says there is a good response to the campaign, both in donations and in people volunteering to help.
