Parks And Rec Bylaw Changes

Council is being asked to approve changes to the CK Parks and Recreation Areas Bylaw Monday night.

With the original bylaw first passed in 2009, it leaves out rules on things like hiking and walking trails. So staff have included them in the new bylaw, specifically stating ATV's and other motorized vehicles can't be used on them. The exception of course would be an electric wheelchair.

In addition, the bylaw also specifies children over the age of ten cannot enter a public washroom of the opposite gender.

Boaters can also not take their vessels onto swimming-designated waters. Infractions within the Parks and Rec Bylaw range from $100 to $500.
