Capitol Annex Gets Tenant

The former Capitol Theatre Annex in downtown Chatham is undergoing renovations and will soon have new occupants.

The building at 240 King St W. will become home to Adult Language and Learning and the group's Executive Director Tracy Callaghan says work is underway.

"Construction starts this week, our landlord at Apollo Property Management has indicated it will take 10-12 weeks to complete the interior renovations to get us inside," she says. "He has also indicated he has a plan to freshen up the outside and put a new facade which will definitely add value to down."

Adult Language and Learning has about 25 employees and provides services to adults and new Canadians to improve literacy and essential skills.

Callaghan says about 100 people per day use the agency's services.
