IPM Chairs To Be Announced

The committee planning the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo for 2018 is going to announce some key information this morning.

Chatham-Kent last hosted an International Plowing Match back in 1979, but it is designated as the host community for 2018 Plowing Match and Rural Expo.

This morning the committee will introduce the co-chairs of the event. They will oversee the many committees organizing events entertainment and site preparation of the more than 800 acre official site.

As well the 2018 logo will be made public.

International Plowing matches often attract more than 100,000 visitors over a five day period.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
