73's Pepper Flyers En Route To Victory

A close game in Essex despite the 73's nearly out shooting the Alvinston Flyers two to one in a 6-4 win.

Alvinston opened the game with a two goal lead through Mark McNally and Karsten Berg, but the 73's would score three unanswered goals to finish the frame.

A pair of unassisted goals — one from each team — would see the 73's keep their one goal lead heading into the third period.

The Flyers were first to open the scoring again in the third period, but Phil Janikowski's second goal of the game for the 73's proved to be the game winner while Tyler Scott's second goal of the game was the insurance Essex wanted.

Dallas Pereira and Brett Vorshuk had the other goals for Essex. Zach VanEyk and Hunter Bryce also scored for the Flyers while Matt Boere made 33 saves in keeping his team in the game as the visitors were outshot 39 to 19, including 20 to 3 in the first period.
