Former Chatham Target Separating From Plaza

A move to separate the former Target store in Chatham from the rest of the Thames-Lea Plaza has cleared a hurdle.

Four buildings make up the shopping mall on Grand Ave. W.  An application to sever one of those buildings, the former Target and Zellers store, was unanimously approved by the Committee of Adjustments this morning.

There's now a 20-day appeal period, and should there be no opposition, the deal will be finalized.

Brad-Lea Meadows Ltd. did not send a representative to the meeting to indicate why the severance application was made, as the possible future use remains a mystery.

The Target store closed in March.
