Local Public Elementary Teachers Reach Contract Agreement

A tentative contract agreement has been reached between local elementary teachers and the Lambton-Kent District School Board.

Lambton-Kent Elementary Teachers Federation President Ron Rivait says the deal covers 900 full time teachers across the region.

Rivait says students will notice a return to normal in the coming weeks.

As part of the new two-tiered bargaining process, a deal was reached on the provincial level earlier this month.

Details of the tentative deal aren't being released until after the ratification vote November 24 at the Brigden Fair Grounds.

The contract will be presented to school board trustees the same evening.
