Public Health Nurses Reach Deal

Public Health Nurses with the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit have ratified a new contract.

The agreement includes a 1% wage increase for each year of the three contract.

The 42 nurses had been without a contract since December 2013. The new contract expires December 2016.

"We're very hopeful that we'll be able to get a collective agreement quicker then the process we did last year. Last time we ended up going right to mediation and we had a strike mandate a couple days following ratification of it," says Bargaining Unit president Charlene Stinson.
