Konecny Makes Team Canada Camp

Hockey Canada's released its list of selection camp invitees for this year's IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

Chatham-Kent's Travis Konecny got the call.

Director of Player Personnel Ryan Jankowski says the 18-year-old brings a combination of speed, skill, and passion for the game that makes him stand out.

"We like him as a player that can play in a number of different spots (on the roster). He's a natural centreman, but played a lot of right wing the last few years, which makes him very versatile for us."

Forwards Spencer Watson and Lawson Crouse, from the London area, will also take part in the camp.

Team Canada took gold at last year's tournament in Toronto and Montreal.

This year's championship will be held in Helsinki, Finland.
