Chatham Goodfellows Receive Generous Donations

The Chatham Goodfellows are getting more support from local businesses for their No Child Without A Christmas campaign.

Union Gas employees held their annual Jersey Day yesterday and handed over a $21,000 cheque, bringing their total donation this year to $26,300.

Meanwhile, Battery Boy on Park Ave. E in Chatham donated $2,000 along with a large amount of batteries.

The money will be used to to purchase food and toys for an estimated 1,500 families in Chatham and the former townships of Chatham, Dover and Harwich, Raleigh and the Merlin Community in partnership with the Merlin Legion.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
