Home James Rides Up, Volunteers Needed

Demand for the Home James ride program in Chatham-Kent is up over last year.

That's prompting organizers to put a call out for more volunteers, with those numbers down from a year ago.

This past Friday and Saturday night a total of 135 rides transported 278 people, travelling a total of 4,405 km.

Officials say wait times Saturday night reached 45 minutes at one point due to the geographic size of the region with 14 teams of volunteers providing the service.

Anyone interested in volunteering can go to www.homejames-ck.ca to obtain the forms.
