Maroons Fall To Nationals

The Chatham Maroons dropped a close 5-4 game to the London Nationals Wednesday night.

The Maroons started the game off with a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period. However, the Nationals gained their momentum in the second to score four goals over one from Chatham to gain a 4-3 lead. The Maroons tied the game in the third, but the Nationals scored their winning goal with less than two minutes left for the win.

Maroons head coach Tyler Roeszler says his team had a few good chances throughout the game but ultimately couldn't bring it home.

"[It was] just a break down, they got a rush second chance on our goalie," he says. "It's kind of the way it works; when you don't bury your chances, it comes back the other way and burns you a little bit."

The Maroons will take on the St. Marys Lincolns on Sunday at 7pm.
