Local Hotel Helping Out Over Holidays

Keeping with the holiday spirit, a Chatham hotel is offering free rooms to those who have loved ones in the hospital.

The "Room at the Inn" program will be offered by the the Comfort Inn on Richmond St. between December 24-27.

The hotel will be providing complimentary accommodation to people from outside of the municipality, who are visiting friends or family at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance over the holidays.

Sheila Bateman, the manager at the Comfort Inn, says the hotel and hospital have partnered for the last 15 years to help out those in need.

"It's an opportunity to give back to those in our community, and we feel that patient care the hospital gives should also be extended to the families of those patients," she says. "Sometimes they need help and assistance just as much as the patient does."

Anyone looking to make a reservation must do so through admissions personnel at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance by calling 519-352-6400.
