Police say unknown suspects forced their way into the Speed-D-Mart on Bloomfield Rd. sometime around 4am Sunday morning.
Damage to the store is estimated at $10,000. Anyone with information is asked to contact Chatham-Kent police or Crime Stoppers.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
