Weapons And Drugs Seized In Chatham Raid

A search warrant executed at a Chatham home has turned up an array of drugs and weapons.

Members of the Chatham-Kent police Intelligence Section and Critical Incident Response Team executed the raid last night. Officers seized $7,750 worth of suspected drugs that included methamphetamine, pot, hashish, fentanyl patches, oxycodone, and magic mushrooms.

In addition to the drugs, police say they also seized cash, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, brass knuckles with a flick knife, a collapsible baton, six pellet guns, ammunition, and a stolen bike.

Four people were arrested and face a long list of charges on multiple accounts that include possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and possession of property obtained by crime.

A 24-year-old Chatham woman and 43-year-old Chatham man were held pending bail hearing, while a 30-year-old woman and 54-year-old man, both of Harwich Township, were released with conditions and a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
