Konecny Family Proud, Travis Representing Canada

Excitement for a Chatham-Kent family who's son will have a chance to represent the country at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Finland.

Rob Konecny says his son Travis called them yesterday after the final roster was announced.

"Very, very, very excited, yes he is," says Konecny. "You know this is something he's wanted to do for a long time and it's been a progression through the whole Hockey Canada system, from U-17s and right on up." Konecny had a goal in their opening exhibition game at the World Junior tournament.

The Ottawa 67's captain and Clachan native will be part of the roster when the tournament opens Boxing Day, when Canada faces the U.S.
