Junior Hockey Wrap-Up -- December 23, 2015

The 73s have handed the Wallaceburg Lakers their 13th straight loss in a 5-0 matchup in Essex.

Alixe Salibe had the first goal for Essex 1:01 into the first period.

That was followed up by a goal by William Stadder in the first.

Michael Vieria had a goal assisted by Matthew Rosati in the second.

In the third period, Kade McKibbin assisted on a goal by Brett Vorshuk, which was then followed up by one by Luke Gecse. That was assisted by Tyler Boughner and Matt Zelko.

Laker's goalie George Hill had 35 shots on the net, while Matt Badour of the 73s stopped 23.

Meanwhile, Derek Daly scored in overtime to give the Dresden Jr. Kings a 6-5 win over the Alvinston Flyers.

Macks Holmes scored shorthanded late in the third period to send the game to extra time.

Kevin Ritzer led the Kings with two goals and two assists, while teammate Derrick VanEvery had four assists.

Travis Moore was busy in net for Dresden, making 40 saves.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
