Fire Has Officials Considering Security Cameras

A fire in a donation bin at a Salvation Army office in Wallaceburg has officials considering installing security cameras.

Captain Stephanie Watkinson says they have replaced the bin since Thursday morning's fire.

"The cost of the bin and disposal of all the damaged donations come out of our proceeds that the thrift store normally would transfer over to family services," says Watkinson.

While she didn't have the cost of the new bin readily available, Watkinson says they continue to ask people with larger donation to call for pick-ups or drop off during business hours.

Watkinson adds that donations over the Christmas holidays are at normal levels.
