No One Hurt In Dover Fire

No one was injured in a fire that hit a W Lewis Line home just north of Mitchell's Bay shortly before the noon hour today.

Dover Township firefighters were backed up by a tanker from Tupperville and although they knocked the flames down quickly, Chatham-Kent Assistant Fire Chief Alan DeVillaer says it continued to smolder.

"This is a single family residence, it started in the garage area, moved into the attic above the garage area and there was heavy smoke and water damage through the entire residence," he says. "We were able to respond fairly quickly, the people who were in the residence were in the garage area so they were able to get out quickly."

No one was hurt, damage is estimated at $150,000 and DeVillaer says the investigation continues.
