Tilbury Nurse Accused Of Stealing, Replacing Drugs

A nurse at Tilbury Manor is accused of stealing drugs intended for patients and replacing them with an unknown substance.

It's alleged a part-time registered practical nurse (RPN) cut the tops off of 12 sealed glass capsules and removed the morphine and hydromorphone.

Investigators say she then replaced the drugs with an unknown liquid and used glue to attach the tops.

The incident is said to have happened at the long-term care home November 19 and police were notified the following day.

A 29-year-old Tilbury woman has been charged with theft under $5,000 and mischief. Her next court date is January 19.
