Crime Stoppers Numbers Get Big

This could be the year Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers hits the $100-million mark.

Crime Stoppers officials answered 680 calls with tips during 2015.

That resulted in 139 arrests, and $2,880,903 in seized drugs and recovered property. Most of that was drugs.

If amount seized this year is at least as high as last it will push the total amount since the local chapter was formed in 1987 at more than $100-million.

And if the number of calls stays about the same Crime Stoppers officials by the end of this year they have received more than 25,000 tips.
