Chatham Boy On The Mend

A 2-year-old boy from Chatham is now out of hospital and doing better after the stroller he was in was hit by a car last week.

The incident happened at the intersection of Queen St. and Park Ave. in Chatham on January 29 around 6:30pm.

The boy's 25-year-old mother was pushing her son in a stroller across Queen St. when police say the stroller was hit by a vehicle turning left onto Queen St. from Park Ave.

The boy was sent to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance before being transferred to London for further treatment.

An 83-year-old Chatham woman is charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.

To help in his recovery, the boy was given a stuffed toy monkey during a visit by a Chatham-Kent police officer.
