Maroons Hammer Vipers 7-1

The Chatham Maroons continue to ride a four game win streak following a big 7-1 win over the LaSalle Vipers on Sunday.

The Maroons took a 2-1 lead in the first period and were able to extend it to 3-1 in the second. Chatham then scored another four unanswered goals in the third to crush in the Vipers.

Nolan VandenBoorn led the Maroons with two goals, while Teddy McGeen, Steven Beenackers, Michael Douglas, Gus Ford and Devin Panzeca all had one.

Tyler Russell scored LaSalle's only goal.

The Vipers will take on the Leamington Flyers next on Wednesday at 7pm. And then on Thursday, the Maroons will face the Flyers at 7:10pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
