Blenheim Crash Injures Woman

A 39-year-old Woodstock woman, who now lives in Chatham, was taken to hospital with injuries that are described as serious and Talbot St. in Blenheim was closed for several hours west of Marlborough St. for a police investigation.

Chatham-Kent Police say the woman had just left a medical clinic and was on the sidewalk when a car pulled into a parking space but didn't stop and smashed into her. It happened at 11:50 am.

The victim was later transported to a London hospital via land ambulance. Police say a request for an air ambulance was denied, but weren't able to say why.

The driver of the car, a 94-year-old Blenheim woman, was taken to hospital as a precaution and was later released.
